The 49th edition of Heimtextil, the world’s largest textile fair, was held in Frankfurt am Main from 8 to 11 January this year. This time the main theme of the meeting was sustainable development. This year’s fair participants, as well as the visitors themselves – who, including us, numbered over 67 thousand! – eagerly discussed the current and future economic situation, including the increasingly popular online sales. A lot of emphasis was also put on ecology and environment-friendly solutions, which can also be seen in this year’s trends. This year will delight us with… an abundance of floral patterns and motifs. It is colorful but with sensitivity – beiges, greens and grays intermingle with golden accents and various shades of blue. What fabrics will be the most fashionable this season?
The most fashionable textiles of 2022 – bedroom trends
As every year, the trends presented at the fair concerned also everyday life in a broad sense. This time the exhibitors were particularly interested in… the bedroom. Lack of sleep has recently become the biggest lifestyle problem.
The bedroom is invariably ruled by soft fabrics and colourful pillows that differ in patterns and sizes. One of the most interesting propositions of the Posttfu.com online store for this year is the Urban Jungle collection of fabrics, which perfectly matches the fashionable floral theme.

Floral motifs and nature-inspired patterns didn’t escape the fabrics in the living room either. In addition to the colorful pillows, numerous curtains featuring leaves, flowers and birds caught our eye.
Sometimes floral motifs took on somewhat oriental forms, which we already know from the previous season. The fashion for Arabian or Indian style ornaments is still going strong! But when we took a closer look, we noticed that in spite of the intricate patterns, some of the fabrics still look as if painted with a brush – a very interesting trick, which should be used at home.
Geometric patterns on fabrics – perfection in every detail
The last trend we saw at the fair was the immortal geometric patterns. The order and symmetry present in them seem to be the complete opposite of the abundant floral patterns. An unskilful combination of floral and geometric motifs can indeed give the impression of chaos. However, geometrics proposed by contemporary artists are not only decorative and colorful, but also well thought out.
