How to arrange a room for a first-grader? First of all, make your child feel good there. A freshly graduated student already knows what he likes and what he doesn’t like. Therefore, just sit together and talk. An elementary school student’s room must serve many functions. It is both a place to study and to rest or play, so the organization of space is very important. But does that mean that there is no room for a bit of madness? Of course not! See how you can decorate the room of a first-grader.

First-grader’s room – how to organize a study corner?

School is a very important stage in a child’s development – unfortunately acquiring knowledge too often resembles an unpleasant chore. What can you do to make learning and homework more enjoyable for your child? How can we help you make a difference?

First of all, make sure that in a student’s room there is a comfortable place for learning, where you can put a desk, a chair, shelves for books and school supplies. Thanks to that you will focus a child’s attention on the most important activities – says Renata Mikuś, our stylist.

So what furniture do we advise you to choose for your student’s room?

  • Desk – choose a desk that allows you to adjust the height of the top. Thanks to this, you will be able to adjust it to the child’s height and your little student will not have any problems with maintaining proper body posture. Such a desk will serve him for years! The size of the top is also important. A learning desk should be spacious enough for a child to put books and other learning aids on it.
  • Chair – just like desks, the ideal chairs should be height adjustable yet comfortable. This way, your child’s burning desire to study won’t be affected by more hours spent on books, and you won’t have to replace your furniture too quickly when your little one grows up. Sounds like a pretty good plan, right?
  • Seat bags – if you have more space, consider whether comfortable seat bags should also find their way into your student’s room. We heartily recommend them! Studying on them will certainly be more pleasant, and in addition – when the first visits of classmates begin – they will be just right for children’s parties.

A good choice will be a pouffe-bed (e.g. from the Comics fabric collection), a cone-shaped Navy Jeans seating bag or a pouffe-chair. These non-standard seats not only look good in the interior, but also allow the child to play interesting games and read not only at the desk.

Remember to keep the study corner well lit. It is worth placing it near a window. You have to take care of your child’s eyesight!

Student Peace. What can be done to make the school year go by in a peaceful atmosphere?

A student’s room, however, is not just a place to study. It should also be conducive to relaxation. Therefore, you should opt for muted and calming colors, such as all shades of pastels – the best are blues, greens, warm shades of orange or subtle pink.

The start of the school year is the perfect time to play with colors. Sometimes all it takes is a little change – new curtains, pillowcases or a bedspread can work wonders and make the new school year a joy for your little one!

Such refreshing of a room does not require a big renovation. It will not disturb your child’s studies, even if you do it in September – stresses Sabina from posttfu.com store. – If you do not know how to meet your child’s taste, invite him/her to play together and choose favourite colors and patterns of the fabrics. It can be a great surprise for your child! And also an opportunity to show him that his opinion is important to you.
